What A Person Should Say In His Ruku’ And Prostration

“All-Glorious, All-Holy, Lord of the angels and spirit.

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say when bowing and prostrating,

“All-Glorious, All-Holy, Lord of the angels and spirit.

HANDS DURING SALAT (2)

Mus’ab b. Sa’d b. Abu Waqqas reported:

I said prayer by the side of my father. When I bowed I intertwined my fingers and placed them between my knees. He struck my hands. When he completed the prayer he said: We used to do that but then were commanded to lift (our palms) to the knees.

SURAH AL MUMINUN

VERSE 1-2

Allah azza wa jal states:

In The Name of Allah, The Entirely Beneficent, The Entirely Merciful

23-1 Certainly will the believers have succeeded,

23-2 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive

Commentary: Tafsir Ibn Katheer

(Successful indeed are the believers) means, they have attained victory and are blessed, for they have succeeded. These are the believers who have the following characteristics:

(Those who with their Salah are Khashi`un.) `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas said:

“(Khashi`un) means those with fear and with tranquillity.” This was also narrated from Mujahid, Al-Hasan, Qatadah and Az-Zuhri. It was reported from `Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, that Khushu` means the Khushu` of the heart. This was also the view of Ibrahim An-Nakha`i. Al-Hasan Al-Basri said, “Their Khushu` was in their hearts.” So they lowered their gaze and were humble towards others. Khushu` in prayer is only attained by the one who has emptied his heart totally, who does not pay attention to anything else besides it, and who prefers it above all else. At that point it becomes a delight and a joy for eyes, as in the Hadith recorded by Imam Ahmad and An-Nasa’i from Anas, who said that the Messenger of Allah said:

Fragrance and women have been made dear to me, and Salah was made the joy of my eye.

OBSERVING PRAYER ON TIME

Narrated Ibn `Umar:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Whoever misses the `Asr prayer (intentionally) then it is as if he lost his family and property.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 552

Narrated Abu Al-Mahh [??]:

We were with Buraida in a battle on a cloudy day and he said, “Offer the `Asr prayer early as the Prophet said, “Whoever leaves the `Asr prayer, all his (good) deeds will be annulled.”

Superiority of Ablution

hadith (5)

It was narrated that Ka’b said:
“Whoever performs Wudu and performs Wudu well, then attends Isha prayer in congregation, then prays four similar Rakahs after that, reciting therein and bowing and prostrating perfectly, that will bring him a reward like that of (praying) Lailat Al-Qadar.” (Hasan Maqtu)

Salat al-Awwabin

Jannah (24)

Zaid bin Arqam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I saw some people performing Duha (prayers) in the early forenoon and warned them (saying): These people must know that performing Salat a little later is better. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The Salat of the penitent is to be observed when the young ones of camels feel the heat of the sun (i.e., when it becomes very hot).”[Muslim].

Hadith 1143

IN SAHIH MUSLIM
Salat al-Awwabin (the prayer of the penitent) is when the young camels feel the heat of the hot sand

Zaid b. Arqam, on seeing some people praying in the forenoon, said:

They well know that prayer at another time than this is more excellent, for Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: The prayer of those who are penitent is observed when your weaned camels feel the heat of the sun.

Four Rakat before Al-Asr

Jannah (16)

What Has Been Related About The Four (Rak’ah) Before Asr

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
“Allah’s Messenger (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray four Rak’ah before Al-Asr separating between them with At-Taslim upon the angels that are close (to Allah) and those who follow them among the Muslims and the believers.”
