It was narrated that Thawban said:
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Adhere to righteousness even though you will not be able to do all acts of virtue. Know that the best of your deeds is Salat (prayer) and that no one maintains his ablution except a believer.'”

THE SUPERIORITY OF ABLUTION

hadith (1).png

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Shall I not tell you of that by means of which Allah erases sins and raises (people) in status? Doing Wudu’ properly [1] even when it is inconvenient, taking a lot of steps to the Masjid, and waiting for one Salah after another. That is the Ribat for you, that is the Ribat for you, that is the Ribat for you.” [1] Isbagh Al-Wudu’

In another Narration,
that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Do Wudu’ properly.'” [1] [1] Isbighu Al-Wudu’. And this narration supports the claim that some of them used this expression to mean “three times” for each limb, rather than “properly.”

It was narrated that Jami’ bin Shaddad said:
“I heard Humran bin Aban tell Abu Burdah in the Masjid that he heard ‘Uthman narrating that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever performs Wudu’ completely as commanded by Allah, the five daily prayers will be an expiation for whatever comes in between them.'”

Superiority of Ablution

hadith (5)

It was narrated that Ka’b said:
“Whoever performs Wudu and performs Wudu well, then attends Isha prayer in congregation, then prays four similar Rakahs after that, reciting therein and bowing and prostrating perfectly, that will bring him a reward like that of (praying) Lailat Al-Qadar.” (Hasan Maqtu)

The superiority of a person who sleeps with ablution.

hadith

Narrated Al-Bara ‘bin `Azib:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, “Whenever you go to bed perform ablution like that for the prayer, lie or your right side and say, “Allahumma aslamtu wajhi ilaika, wa fauwadtu `Amri ilaika, wa alja’tu Zahri ilaika raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. I surrender to You and entrust all my affairs to You and depend upon You for Your Blessings both with hope and fear of You. There is no fleeing from You, and there is no place of protection and safety except with You O Allah! I believe in Your Book (the Qur’an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent). Then if you die on that very night, you will die with faith (i.e. or the religion of Islam). Let the aforesaid words be your last utterance (before sleep).” I repeated it before the Prophet (ﷺ) and when I reached “Allahumma amantu bikitabika-l-ladhi anzalta (O Allah I believe in Your Book which You have revealed).” I said, “Wa-rasulika (and your Apostle).” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “No, (but say): ‘Wanabiyika-l-ladhi arsalta (Your Prophet whom You have sent), instead.”

hadith (20)

It was narrated from Abu Malik Ash’ari that:
The Messenger of Allah said: “Performing ablution properly is half of faith, saying Al-Hamdu Lillah fills the Scale (of good deeds), saying Subhan-Allah and Allahu Akbar fills the heavens and the earth, prayer is light, Zakat is proof, patience is brightness and the Qur’an is proof for you or against you. Every person goes out in the morning to sell his soul, so he either frees it or destroys it.'”

Hadith

hadith (12)

‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever of you performs Wudu’ carefully and then affirms: ‘Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallahu Wahdahu la sharika Lahu, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu [I testify that there so no true god except Allah Alone, Who has no partners and that Muhammad ((ﷺ) is His slave and Messenger],’ the eight gates of Jannah are opened for him. He may enter through whichever of these gates he desires (to enter).”

[Muslim].

In the narration in At- Tirmidhi, it is added: “Allahummaj-‘alni minat-tawwabina, waj-‘alni minal-mutatahhirin (O Allah make me among those who repent and purify themselves).”
